Offsite Data Backup
In this uncertain world we don’t know about the future. To keep the business and services running the backup of the critical data is performed and data is stored on the backup media. Once the backup is done the backup media is transferred to some secure off site location and backup is stored in the vault for disaster recovery purpose.
In case of disaster, the backup media is taken from the offsite backup vault and used to restore the original data. It is the traditional approach for backup and recovery.
This is internet age and every enterprise is connected to it. Some new vendors have come up with a new idea of offsite backup services.
In this concept the vendor installs their backup software in the client machine and connects the client data center to their data center. Once the backup is done it is transferred to vendors data center using a Internet connection in encrypted form.
If the client requests for data restore then data is restored back using Internet connection in encrypted form and it is decrypted at client machine by backup software. This backup approach is going to change the traditional backup and restore mechanisms.
