As per the customer needs there are various backup solutions available in market. But if the customer want to take the backup on the media tapes he needs to manage the media tapes for the future use. It is a costly option because it requires a continuous investment for the backup infrastructure.
The other option for backup is remote backup service. Today many vendors are available who provides this service. In remote backup service the customer data is backed daily by the backup software and sent to the vendor’s data center through a high speed internet connection. The vendor’s data center keep dual copies in the mirrored disaster recovery sites. Once the client requests for the data restore the backup vendor can complete the restore in minutes. This mode of backup is also secure because the data is sent and received in encrypted form over internet. So it is a cheap and convenient way of taking data backups.
